In Savannah, a large majority of urban youth lack even one caring adult in their life, leading directly to increased dropout rates, unemployment, crime, and other roadblocks to their success. Elevate has proven effective in changing these trends and transforming the lives of our nation’s youth. Elevate Savannah is being launched using the same model that has been successful across the U.S. to help change the outcomes for students in our city.
We can trace our roots all the way back to 1951, when a group of parents of special needs children created an organization to give people with IDD opportunities for socialization, enrichment, and education. In the decades since, we’ve evolved to serve adults and added a focus on supported integrated employment, in addition to the valuable life skills that have always been a part of our mission.
With a proven track record in Supported Employment, EmployAbility prepares people with IDD for the workforce – identifying job prospects, preparing for interviews, and providing job coaching to ensure success.
EmployAbility also connects adults with IDD to daily volunteer opportunities and enrichment activities to become more confident, valued, and engaged in the community.
Forsyth Farmers’ Market is more than a market. We know that the industrial food system does not offer equal access to fresh and healthy foods. So, we work to grow an equitable food system that improves access to healthy, fresh, culturally relevant foods for those who have been marginalized through a mobile farmers’ market, nutrition education, and doubling SNAP benefits. By increasing food access, promoting healthy eating, and partnering with local health centers and other organizations, FFM works to reduce health disparities and diet-related chronic disease and improve wellbeing in our community.
Further, FFM strives for a local food system in which our local farmers are supported and valued and are able to diversify their sales in communities that they otherwise might not have access to. We generate spaces in which producers and consumers can connect directly.
Access to healthy food should be a right and not a privilege, and the health of our community and the wellbeing of our farmers should coincide, leading to a more sustainable and equitable local food system.
Georgia Police K9 Foundation (GPK9F) is an All Volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit. Our goal is to protect as many of Georgia’s four legged officers by providing them with safety equipment, such as, bullet-proof vests, heat alarm systems, Narcan and First Aide kits. Once a K9 has retired, the Handler will adopt their K9 partner and best friend. In the absence of State or local retirement benefits for the K9s, GPK9F will help provide retirement support (food and medical care) for the retired law enforcement K9s, who have unconditionally served their communities for years.
The Georgia K9 Retirement Foundation was founded in 2016 by a group of K9 handlers in Statesboro, GA, who wanted to help provide veterinary assistance to retired k9s. We realized that many police departments lack the funding to support active duty k9s, let alone retired dogs. The support was overwhelming, and the needs of law enforcement k9s across Georgia became more and more evident.
In 2018, our mission expanded, and the Georgia Police K9 Foundation was launched. Our volunteer team, made up of k9 handlers, law enforcement professionals, and citizens, is passionate about protecting and serving law enforcement k9s, active or retired, across Georgia.

Those items can include but are not limited to: vests, custom harnesses, other assistance items, veterinary visits, and more. Service dogs are trained to support individuals with mobility, hearing, psychiatric, and brain/neurological disabilities.
